The Cosine Rule - By Mary Howlett

How to use this applet:

To use the applet, you must click on the button to display the first two triangles and then click on the button a second time to display the third triangle which illustrates the cosine rule. When you click on the button for the first time it will also change the screen from a dark purple to a darker colour.

Notes on the maths used in the applet:

The maths needed in this applet were in relation to the cosine rule which included the formula: a^2 = b^2 + c^2 - 2bccosA b^2 = a^2 + c^2 - 2accosB c^2 = a^2 + b^2 - 2abcosC I also worked out the sídes and angles needed in the three triangles.
