Because of recent changes in policy, it is required that you comply with our Matrix Website Acceptable Usage Policy. This means that you agree to a set of rules that govern how you use your Matrix website. This has been partly laid down to us from higher powers in Trinity, and partly as a need for the owner of the website to take responsibility for its content.
The Matrix Web Acceptable Usage Policy (WAUP) is distinct from the Matrix Acceptable Usage Policy (AUP) and must be agreed to seperately. Failure to accept the policy means that your website will be disabled. If you are found to be in breach of the WAUP, then your website AND your matrix account will be disabled, and you will be reported to the Junior Dean.
Mandatory acceptance of the WAUP will come into effect from the 28th October 2002. You have until then to accept the policy, should you wish. Otherwise, your website will be disabled.
This may seem harsh, but this is necessary to allow us to continue offering this service to all of our members. We will come down strictly on users who fail to comply, as the future of matrix websites and accounts in general depends upon it.
The only way to accept WAUP is to run the following command on matrix:
accept_waup.pl
Read the text fully to make sure you understand it and type "yes" at the prompt. This will add you to the list of allowed web users.
The full text of the Matrix WAUP can also be found here.
