DHCP is now available to machines connecting to the LAN in the Netsoc room.
What?! Simply put, the router in the room will automatically assign your laptop its IP address, default gateway and DNS server information when you plug it into the hub. This means no more messing about with setting those 10.0.. addresses, just plug in and you're connected.
This, of course, is assuming you have DHCP set up on your laptop (which you would normally, if using the TCD network). For example, in Windows, make sure "obtain IP address automatically" is ticked in TCP/IP setup.
