Open Source Experience

Open-source enthusiast with plentiful experience with Ubuntu, Fedora, Red Hat, Yoper, SUSE and Debian distributions.
Currently using XUbuntu Desktop on my Asus G1S series laptop.
Everyday usage includes usage in GNOME, vim, KDE, GTK, GTK+, QT, Bluefish, Eclipse, GCC, G++, Anjuta and Glade.
Member, founder and contributor to two googlecode GPL-licensed open-source projects - nukeracer and mobileagents.

Technical Expertise

Senior Freshman (2nd Year) Computer Science student in Trinity College Dublin, Ireland.
Experience includes :
- 2 years of Java programming including object-oriented project design with GOF design patterns.
- 3 years of systems programming in C / C++ developing low-level systems for unix and windows platforms.
- Web programming in HTML and PHP on personal and club-based websites.
- Project work on open-source projects, both personal and college-based projects.

Also Experience in 68000/68008 Assembly language programming for a custom-built system made during a course in my degree.
VHDL modelling and syntheseis for microprocessor and logic design.
Eiffel programming for learning of formal algorithms and programming-by-contract.

Currently I am involved in game development, on an open-source project (nukeracer.googlecode.com). See here for details.
Also interested in graphical programming.
Relevant experience is with java's Swing and the open-source 3D-graphics engine - Irrlicht.


College Work

Currently I am developing a Mobile Agent Platform for mobile phones as part of a group project as part of my degree.
The project is being implemented on Java ME and is due for release in early May.
