Useful for testing horribly complicated circuts with lots of soldering that could go wrong. Tiny. Saves lugging about a big multimeter.
Ingredients:
Itty-bitty speaker
Cell battery & holder
Bits of wire
Pair of paperclips
Some electrical tape

Steps:
  1. Unfold the outermost bend in the paperclips
  2. Solder a paperclip (loads of wire) to the speaker
  3. Solder the other end of the speaker to the battery
  4. Solder the other end of the battery case to some more wire
  5. Solder the wire to the second paperclip
  6. Wrap the pseudo-handles of the paperclip in electrical tape
  7. Magic.

Note: Sellotape the circuit to a velcro wrist-strap for cool portabililty and to stop it from getting in the way.
Secondary note: Sellotape may not be the best construction material
