DU Potholing Club / Equipment

This equipment list is as of November 2002. If you wish to borrow club gear please email the equipment officer giving at least 3 days notice of equipment required. This will be provided at the wall the following wednesday or as per agreed arrangement. If you are going on a club trip, you need not 'apply' for equipment as we will bring all the gear required. Gear should be returned to the equipment officer clean & dry, ready for storage. Sometimes you may be required to leave a deposit which will be returned upon return of the club equipment in satasfactory condition.

Lights, Helmets, Belts

Helmets

  • 2 White HB olympus helmets - bought December 2001 from bernies.
  • 7 Lime & White Protex helmets

Belts

  • 9 Dragon load bearing belay belts.

Batteries

  • 1 FX2 Battery - bought December 2001 from bernies.
  • 9 FX2 Batteries

Chargers

  • 1 Unicharger with two-way adapter
  • 4 Single cell chargers

Headsets

  • 7 FX2 Headsets - bought December 2001 from bernies
  • 3 FX2 Headsets
  • 4 APEX Headsets

General

  • 1 Comfort sack - bought December 2001 from misc shops
  • 1 spare bivvy bag
  • 2 First aid kits in ammo boxes. Contents need checking & replacing!

Kitbags

  • 1 Large red/blue dragon ropebag
  • 2 Medium blue/yellow dragon ropebags

Vertical rigging gear

  • 2 Ladders (with spreaders)
  • 5 Sewn slings
  • 1 Unsewn sling

Rope

Static rope for SRT

  • 1 Yellow ropebag with 70m 10.5mm E.Dri rope - Bought December 2001 from Bernies
  • 2 Static ropes rigged in Luce sports hall for SRT training.

Dynamic rope for belaying

  • 1 Dynamic rope (blue/green. need to check length).

SRT Kits

  • 1 SRT kit - Bought December 2001 from Bernies. Red/Yellow Petzl Harness.
  • 4 SRT kits - Yellow, Caving Supplies. Saftery connection/footloops all replaced November 2002.

Misc vertical gear

  • 1 Spare Petzl croll
  • 1 Fig 8 (seems reasonably well worn!!)
  • 4 HMS krabs
  • 2 Triangular belt connections for belaying off
