How to use this applet:

The Differentiator below allows you to enter sample values for U and V.
It will then take you through The Product Rule of differentiation, step by step.

If you are asked for the derivative of a product, where Y = U*V and U and V are both functions of x, you use the formula:

dy/dx = u.dv + v.du

This is the Product Rule of Differentiation
