Finding The Area Under A Curve, Finding The Area Between Two Curves. - By Neil Peirce
How to use this applet:Clicking on the Start button will guide you through various examples. Press Continue to go to the next stage. Press Quit/Reset to quit at any time. Entering coefficients for two graphs will draw them and integrate them with respect to the x-axis.Notes on the maths used in the applet:This applet uses the equation for finding the integral of polynomials up to degree three. This is that the integral of xn = (xn+1)/(n + 1). This applet also demonstrates the use of definate integrals to find areas under curves which have definate upper and lower bounds with respect to the x-axis.Other useful information: Pressing Quit/Reset outside of the demonstration sets the zoom to zero. To clear the graph set both bounds equal to each other and clear the graph equation to zero. The current scaling and the mouse position are shown in the window status bar.
