Linear Transformation Applet - By Ivan Lennon
How to use this applet:The applet is pretty easy to use. Drag the mouse on the applet to draw a line or simply click to enter a point. Enter values for a, b, c and d in the textfields at the top. Important: The values entered must be Integer values. Also as the applet is limited in size the values for a, b, c and d should not be too large as the resulting transformation will not be graphed. When the line has been drawn and the values entered, press the "Transform me" button. The original line will remain and the transformation will be displayed in red. Also the coordinates of both lines will be displayed in the textarea at the right. The process can be repeated for similar values of a, b, c and d. However, if other values are required press the "Reset" button. If you have had enough press "Exit" . Enjoy!Notes on the maths used in the applet:A Linear Transformation is a transformation of the form where The term linear means that both x' and y' are linear combinations of x and y i.e points are transformed to points, lines to lines etc.
