Cube: Official Launch

Posted by:Netsoc Posted on:Feb 12,2010

19th February, 2010 The Dublin Unversity Internet Society is pleased to announce the launch of our new server, Cube.

Cube is a Dell PowerEdge R410, with 8 blazing fast cores, 24GB of RAM, and tonnes of hard drive space.

Cube offers graphical login to all Netsoc members. Users can log into Cube from anywhere in the world and connect to their persistent GUI session on a solid Debian Linux system, with a wide range of software available to use.

Netsoc members will be able to log into Cube from today either via SSH login or via the NoMachine NX client.

In addition to the launch of Cube, we are pleased to announce the redesign of our society website. We are also launching new message boards for the whole college to use, located at http://boards.netsoc.tcd.ie.

Netsoc Council,
