Restarting login machines

Following some Debian security updates, we need to restart our login machines so they boot into the new versions of the kernel. Both machines will be rebooted tomorrow, cube at 8am and spoon at 2pm.

Spoon will be down for up to half an hour extra as we want to diagnose a long-standing problem with the RAID card controlling /home. we don’t suspect a dead disk, but the controller has stopped talking to us so we want to give it chocolate and flowers to make it stop giving us the cold shoulder.

UPDATE: We’ll be restarting the services machine, snark, tonight at about 7pm. This means that logins will be unavailable for about 5 minutes.
